This piece involves the use of asian sauce dishes combined to form a circular format. We were given an assignment "Rhythm and repetition" with nothing else to work from but the size, so with my idea of rhythm i thought of music and movement combined in a sort of chaotic scene.. but i also challenged myself in making something like that beautiful.
Pylons, they are everywhere, especially in beautiful country, and since chinese art always showed beautiful/un-inhabited scenaries I DECIDED TO INVADE IT with pylons.

HUMAN INVASION.
---------------
Productivity is the key for the economical age we live in. It is the belief that the growth of income provide individuals the control to indulge in life's special offers, but with it comes a price tag that no amount of money can replace. Through common knowledge we are parasites as we hold the power to invade and exploit, harming ourselves and the environment we live in.
Throughout this project of Rhythm and Repetition I wanted to explore freedom of movement. With this decision I began stydying surroundings, absorbing the atmosphere and pin pointing certain structures that fascinated me, the structure was to be an on-going theme throughout this assignment. Pylons are a strong representation of power; it is symbolic of human dominance or control. This is a force that is unstoppable as we continue to advance in believe of saving ourselves we take away the beautiful invading the natural with the un-natural. I wanted to make this situation alien by depicting these structures through Chinese landscape paintings.
haha if only, lol i do have a closer picture of a few of the bowls. but a pic of one bowl kinda dulls it down a little.. since it was an installation it was pretty hard to not take a picture of all of them. that was y i took them basically in as many angles as possible to give people a general idea of where it was and how it was placed.. 2year conceptual art stuff is hard work LOL
a "teka" board is the traditional way japanese "sushi or sashimi " raw fish is served..some people like it in a bowl of warm soup..make it like boullabaise ...whicvh is a french word for fish in soup bowl so a teka bowl is japanese fish in soup bowl...
yep..i guess it is its been a week i must admit..in the ethnic food industry...here we're just pizza..burgers..and home cooking..our best japanese restaurant truly authentic..and very tasty unfortunately costs $80.00 for 2 people to eat..and thats with out drinks and a table spoon of ginger ice cream is $2.00
